With brands ruling the entire market, there is very less space for the cottage Industry products to become big and challenge the players. With great channel power, marketing tactics and ability to take help of great advertising firms like Ogilvy, McCann Pacific, Lintaas, these brand are able to command the market.
With Amazon, coming into picture, as we saw in the 2019 story boxes, we saw a lot of small entrepreneurs who shared their success stories.
So, recently we had been to NABARD's Mahalaxmi Saras Mela. Trust us, it was the most surreal experience we've ever had at a mela. And had the tastiest cookies in our lives. We saw farmers, small artisans and Craftsmen who sold great quality products. The most heartwarming was to see the Kashmiri Craftsmanship!
Apart from buying a lot of things, it pained our heart to see people bargaining. We don't mind paying huge amount in malls, but don't really think of how difficult it is for these businesses to survive - they don't get the right platform to showcase their talent.
We are of the opinion that if these sellers are given power, then they can make the big brands lick dust.
The question arises how do we do that? We believe we need a new e-commerce platform, which exclusively sells the cottage Industry products.
